The Founder of Chakra, Eduardo is an enthusiastic biologist and world renown adventure racing team captain with over 25 years of work experience in adventure guiding, international travel experience design, and tourism management. Strongly skilled in Travel Planning, Event Management and safely facilitating extreme experiences for unexperienced guests. The energizer bunny and mountain goat, Eduardo is the eternal fire and non-stop dreamer pushing us higher and beyond our comfort zone.
FELIPE
Father, husband, tropical biologist and nature photographer with 25 years work experience in adventure and nature tourism, experience designing, and management. Strongly skilled in Environmental Education, Sustainable Development, and Environmental Issues. The vegetarian and avid birdwatcher, guitar enthusiast, Felipe is the fresh air that brings simplicity, fun, and joy feeding our dreams.

Mother, wife, businesswoman with 20 years work experience in management consulting, conservation, and hospitality. Highly skilled in Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Issues, and Nonprofit Organizations. The caregiver and introspective, Irene keeps us grounded and focused to make dreams come true.

Don Luis, Doña Martina, their daughters and family, are at the very heart of Chakra. Don Luis hand-built everything here, without electricity! A former hunter turned conservationist, very few people know these mountains as he does. He is currently a community leader, coffee grower and avid storyteller! Doña Martina has great hands for gardening, the strongest will and sweetest spoon for cooking. Along with their daughters, Roxana and Sonia, we complete our team of a family operated retreat center where you’ll feel right at home. We invite you to practice your Spanish so you can chat with these wonderful people; they’ll tell you all about long lost stories and recipes from rural Costa Rica.
